’Sidetracked’ is essentially a human story rather than a motor one, albeit the two are inextricably intertwined.  Since publication, questions have been asked about various aspects of the car's unusual engineering, as well as about the events that preceded and followed its exotic transformation. 

On the construction side, there is certainly more to tell, especially about the many unexpected and complicated mechanical hurdles, much of which was glossed over in order to keep the overall story flowing smoothly.  This, together with some 'befores' and 'afters', is included here and itemised in the index below.
